Default I have reached 50,000 miles

Hi guys and gals, i realised today i have just reached 50,000 miles with my trusty terrano.

I have had it since december 2010 and it had 132,000 miles on the clock, it has now just passed 182,000 miles and still going strong.

I have to say it has been a cracking motor and a joy to drive and work on, very tough.

I did consider replacing it once with a long wheel base but thought better of it, better the devil you know...

I've had mine since 1995, I have less than 97k miles on it.
I have never made the effort to use veg oil, maybe if I became a member of booker, I might try it.. It would have to be a great saving, but we don't have a booker close by, so more fuel and cost to get it.

But for the mileage I do... is it worth it, short journeys, used almost every day.
What if I fill up, or even 1/2 fill up, so lasts over a month or more, does it go stale or thicken up?

After the initial filter change, how often do you need to change it?
It could work out that the savings I make on diesel fuel, are spent on fuel filters and fuel going to buy it.

The Mav has run well for 19 years on diesel, everything on the engine other than the oil and filter and a few glow plugs, is still original.
No adjustments (except tappets) made either, and I have never looked at the mini filter either.
So if it ain't broke... don't fix it...
