Any of you 'puter chappies help me out please
It's called "OfferWizard" and seems to have come tagged onto some download or update somehow
I've got AVG paid for version, firewalls and all that . It's not in the Settings or Extensions menu of chrome, neither does it show in my program list

I'm no expert but I've always been pointed towards Malwarebytes to help remove such rubbish when I've had problems.

There is a paid for version and a free version - the free version has always worked fine for me:

Try this...

Scratch that... bad link..

oh and be careful doing a google search on Offer Wizard, as the first site that comes up locks you into one of those pretend virus checker sites...

its will be an add-in and you probably need to disable it. if not, then you might have to dig deeper and remove from registry.

Have you checked your add-ins yet (extensions in Chrome) and have you checked that your default home pages have not been changed? you might also have some redirection going on - when do these annoying adds appear?

Nothing in the Chrome extensions.

Looks like a nasty bit of work, first thing you need to do, is go into windows programs and remove it, as the sites I have looked at, all say that it will have been installed with another application you downloaded.

After that, it gets harder, as it looks like it has installed some entries in the Registry, and I can only find sites that want you to download their "Special" removal tool, not one that tells you where the actual entries are. I never trust "Special" removal tools, as many are just jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Depending on how much you have personalised your browser, it seems that the easiest way is to revert your browser back to it's default settings, which should get rid of it, from there, once you have removed it from windows.

If you can get malwarebytes installed and running, what's best to do is get the pc to run in safe mode then re-run the scans as it will be easier to remove any spyware that way.

Me too, Malwarebytes seems to deal with most of these invasive little critters! (I downloaded the trial version, and when that expired I carried on using it in spite of regular messages to say I was no longer covered, that was 6 weeks ago and I'm still using it!)
