bungalow update
I thought id post some updates to let you all know whats going on with the saga of my new bungalow .
tomorrow ( Monday 29th july ) the council are coming to repair the wonky and dangerous flagstone path , also bt openreach are coming tomorrow to install /or connect a phone line ( even though it will be virgin providing the service ) my expected broadband speed will be an astonishing 4mb !!!! , but until virgin come along with their router thingie I wont have any internet . the council are also coming to inspect the interior walls in the bungalow on the 5th august ( plaster is falling off and has some big holes ) , but I stress this is just a inspection , it may be quite some time before they actually get around to plastering it ...... then of course we will have to wait before we can wallpaper ..... im still paying full rent for a bungalow I cant live in ( as well as full mortgage for this place ) so don't hold your breath just yet about my moving in |

I do not think Pete should be paying rent on a place unfit for habitation, what do others think, Rick

agreed Rick, I wouldn't be paying for it if I wasn't in it - as not being in it isn't my choice.
Cant you do anything Peter? Get a refund for a start? |

It's outrageous, these conditions were talking about is reminiscent of maybe a hundred years ago tenements etc and unscrupulous landlords, this is the 21st century for god's sake, but I don' want to appear racist or an alarmist but Briggie would not be on top of the list of housing priorities in fact not even on the bottom.
I'll fall off my soapbox now and go man the barracades. rustygates.

if it wasn't so serious it would be laffable ...... our claim for housing benefit has been turned down ...... why I hear you ask ? ...... because you cant claim housing benefit for a house you aren't living in

update ...
the council came today in two big vans , to fix my wonky and dangerous path , they had a quick look then said the job is too big for them and they would inform " the contractors " ,..... fekk knows when they will get round to fixing it . on a brighter note , bt came to connect the phone line today , so now I have a phone that works , but when I plugged the router in , it connected with my lappy , but said no internet connection ... I guess virgin hasn't got around to commissioning my router yet , but they said it should be done by the end of today . |
