HG is pretty simple on these to be fair, no timing gear to mess about with, just pull the head off strip it and get it skimmed/tested

former member ian douglas had an early t2, possibly pre production and was on 180K
there was a thread sometime ago that linked to a nissan usa site where some of theirs were 250K, 500K etc heard many of the 2.7d taxis have been converted to lpg and spark ignition.

I drove over 100 miles with a blown head gasket when I had my mistral ..... ol I used a hell of a lot of water ,( was even topping it up from puddles in laybys ) , but I got to my destination ...... rick replaced my hg ,etc , didn't even need to skim the head ........ everything great afterwards ...... until some r sole run into the back of it

I've got an '04 with 42250 on it...............that's first time round, too. Hopefully, it'll see the same number come around again
