HG is pretty simple on these to be fair, no timing gear to mess about with, just pull the head off strip it and get it skimmed/tested

former member ian douglas had an early t2, possibly pre production and was on 180K

there was a thread sometime ago that linked to a nissan usa site where some of theirs
were 250K, 500K etc

heard many of the 2.7d taxis have been converted to lpg and spark ignition.

I drove over 100 miles with a blown head gasket when I had my mistral ..... ol I used a hell of a lot of water ,( was even topping it up from puddles in laybys ) , but I got to my destination ...... rick replaced my hg ,etc , didn't even need to skim the head ........ everything great afterwards ...... until some r sole run into the back of it

On a dry day use the car and then park it up on a level surface. Then keep an eye on the floor at the centre of the car just from the front bumper. Watch for a small amount of water. That's a good indicator of water pump which is my bet.

Also check inside of oil filler cap for mayo, also expansion tank for signs of oil too.

That's cracking, did he just clean it well and check it with a straight edge then ?

I did the water pump over Christmas, and no mayo on filler cap, the water in the water bottle looks abit rusty/orange dont know if thats an indication of anything? ???

That's an indication that it needs draining and refilling with fresh stuff
