Wednesday evening on the way home there were a number of cars blocking my route home who had become stranded in flood water, they hadn't anticipated the depth of.

One of them (a Clio driver) had been quoted £85.00 by the AA to get him out, and then £5.00 a mile to tow him to his destination, or garage!

I dont have a snorkel, so I bottled it and turned around. Its embarrasing getting stuck in a hatchback... even worse in a 4 X 4 though.

If this is a sign of the type of weather we can now expect, I think a snorkel may be an essential item. I think the T2 can only wade up to 500mm withouth one.

Aye freaky innit if it had been a landie then you'd still be there with the doors open draining the puddle out
The downside is though you start to float at about that depth mate and suddenly you have no traction. Have to drive paddle steamer stylee then

yes mate, I've seen a vid i think for safari snorkels where they drive in to some lake/river in a white lwb and it just floats off and starts spinning around but eventually they get traction and drive out again

I'd rather have water at my feet then floating around like a rubber dingy.
