possible ebay scam?
I'm just wanting to see if this has happend to you too, right, I've been selling stuff on eBay for about a month now, made about , £100 in 4x4 parts, but now mum's PayPal account has had over £40 pulled out of it by "eBay Europe sarl", just want to know if this has happened to you as well, as I only thought eBay/paypal just taken a certain percentage of the money from a item you've sold, eg, I sell a speaker for £5, eBay/paypal will take £0.90p, it seems that they charge you for a insertion fee, even If you don't sell an item, you will still get charged for an item that's listed but not selling. Has This ever happened to you? They also say they will take about £21 off at the end of this month, could this be a scam or someone's hacked into it?

Ebay fees are about 10% of the selling price + listing charge
Paypal charge about 3.4% + 20p on payments receivied Read their charges... £40 sounds alot for £100 worth of selling, are you sure your numbers are right? Have you been listing loads of stuff that has not sold? Not a scam |

your numbers don't add up then. You can see how much you have sold in the seller summary in ebay.
You can also see when you payed ebay fees before the £40 fee. As ebay take it out in lump sums every month or so and paypal take it from the payment you receive automaticly. |

not sure about the £40 or the £21, but they do charge for items that don't sell unless its on an offer i.e. 'no insertion fees if not sold' or 'free insertion fee's this weekend' check the details on the £40 and see if it give you a clue where its went, and quiz the £21 never paid fee's that high

Aye, it's high for what's been sold, it also says its cost me £2.70 for inserting a picture, but when I was listing items, it only said £0.70p for the whole listing, that's keeping everything basic, I'll copy up what eBay are saying for you all tomorrow, then you'll see what I mean because, there's no way the fee should be 40, the way it is now, there taking half my money, I'm actually.making a loss

Cheers, so the only way to stop the fees is to close my shop and stop selling things on ebay
