Hi all, just purchaced a terrano 2.7 5 door with a view to running it on cooking oil does any other mnember do this, and have they any advice ?? I have heard that cooking oil damages the seals of the fuel pump?? any advise would be helpfull

Welcome, lots of us run these on cooking oil, that is clean new vegetable oil known as SVO, the issue seems to be that it is getting harder to get SVO at a decent price.

Thanks for that , i have heard that it is being done, but didnt want to do any damage.

Don't go mad with the cooking oil till you get used to the smell of it. I use about 50% more if I go on longer trips. You could also get cheap Biodiesel if you live near a producer. Several around Rochdale. And welcome to the forum. David.

not but need to chage teh fuel filter as the veggie cleans all teh gunk in the tank out and it gets pulled into the filter

not had any prob's with filters with cooking oil's.. me thinks your right about it being bio sh1te..

I have had no filter problems either and I have run at up to 100% rape seed oil, no modifications just tipped in the tank, though I'm running on diesel at the moment as I don't have a decent SVO supply

but on the bright side I'm not doing many miles so it's not costing a fortune.
