New and looking to buy a pathfinder, advice needed
Hi all,
I am looking at a 2008 Pathfinder Sport, it has 104000miles on the clock so its had a hard start in life. What are people opions on buying such a new car with such high mileage on? also when I start the car and it was sitting there idiolling, I put the clutch in and the engine seemed to change tone slighty (cant discribe the noise) Should this be something to be concern about? Its last service was at 91,000miles Thank you for your help |

i was talking to a farmer and his friend today and i was told by his friend these are realy bad for towing with, they just dont like it. the farmers brothers clutch has gone and it turned out he bought a lemon ( its not too old) and the farmer knows somebody else what put a different clutch and fly wheel in to get it to drive better..
i dont want to put you off and its just here say about the week clutch but i would be doing my homework before i handed any big money over... larson |

Maybe a lot of research needed, anything renault personally i would avoid, wouldn`t worry about sat nav, after all we do have pretty good signposts in this country concentrate on drivetrain and repair costs

Cant comment on the manual version but i had an auto 09/59 reg for a few weeks and it was bloody awful. There are significantly better 4x4s out there.

bad reports on the 2.5 common rail, also in navaras.
personally 174 bhp from that capacity seems bit high nice but high. i like the look, but pity the 4.0 v6 petrol stopped as think with auto and lpg would have been more fun
