Not sure if sold as seen has any statutory definition However a dealer has to sell something as fit for purpose and remain so for a reasonable time afterwards. I also understand that defects have to be listed eg if you buy a coat thats a second or defective they are obliged to point out why it is http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/advice/index.cfm |

I'll give him a ring - we got it from london so it's a fair way to take it to find out they wont take it back. I'll call them tomorrow and see what he says.

All my window packed up a while ago apart from drivers, so thought relay etc, no the switches in the center consol was the problem took them all apart cleaned them up, no problems at all except that the wiring to this lot is a nightmare, my advice take several pics from different angles and make sure every wire can be identified, I am well into electrics but still took me hours to sort it out because when you lift the rear of the consol to get at the switches it pulls some of the wires off and you cannot see from where, so cut the cable ties first to reduce the strain, I have not had time to look at the rest of the post as I am on lap top with no charger away from home, Rick

could be battery in fob/key.do the indicators flash when button is pressed,if not then it will be remote. as for the lock there is a little micro switch thing on the drivers door lock which tend to fail.not sure if it would jam up the job lot though. there is also a unit for the power locks inside the drivers door which could be shagged. sounds like you have got off to a bad start with this truck. |

For the windows, I'd say replace the fuses first. Mine blew like every time I used the sods. Fitting a 20A fuse fixed that (if I only operate one at a time )
As for the revving, change the oil, plugs, filters and then have another go. Squeeky speedo cable? Replace. Towbar stuff. No idea. |

Windows on my T2 get stuck on a regular basis when I don't use the truck that much. Sometimes they will free themselves up. Try spraying some furniture polish on the rubbers around the glass as it seems the rubbers get dry and stick. Sometime they will free up if I hold the switches down and thump the inside door panel. Also it is common enough for the wires on the switches under the centre console to fall off. Try taking off the centre console and see if they have fallen off. It is easy enough to take off the panels on the doors to see whats happening inside. That might tell you if something is jammed. If you take the door panel off try shaking the wiring connector where it connects to the window motor while at the same time holding down the switch for the window. Have had dodgy/loose connectors causing problems from time to time also.
My electronic key fob also has a habit of working very eratically if I haven't used it for a while. If I am using the truck regularly it works fine. No harm checking the battery in the key fob although it seems your problem is not that. |
