I wasn't suggesting the original posting was 'hard core porn', or judging anyone for posting or viewing but rather entering the general debate around allowing images for adults only, to me they belong in the same category as racist threads. Not on here please!

From experience we have seen that if nothing else they cause disagreements that loose the club valuable members and that alone is enough to stop this sort of thing.

the thing is because pete put a flash on which showed fanny flashes and yes that was close to the not allowed line, and the anti boob brigade want to ban everything. according to the rules neither are wrong.... i admit adz's one was way over the line . and i personally sorted that.

the fact that loads are apposed to no boobs or bums trouble is loads want them. and yes the ban the boob wins by majority .... but the ones who like the odd boob should not be expected to F OFF.

the minority has spoken too and its unfair to say ban everything.... common ground is needed or a compromise

At the end of the day we are all here because of what we drive & what the site is about BUT a bit of harmless fun be it rude of swearing shouldn't be bared

Now i really am not posting on this thread any more

please explain why the poll was instigated in the first place?
in a democratic society we live isnt it most votes win?

the poll shows 15% lead(any political party would love that much lead lol) but in this case means nothing.

as i said in my early post i am no prude but beleive this is not the site for such items.

i do smile of "close to the wind remarks" if they are in context.
i dont believe things like swearing should be allowed but thats MY personal belief.

can i suggest to close this thread down that Bat21 makes a descion if to allow such items to be posted or not then it comes clear

if not it will just drag on and on and on and ..................................on

put quite simply I fail to see how one can complain when you are forewarned of content, you then have to make a conscioius decision to "click" on a link which then in my mind becomes your responsibilty for viewing.

as mentioned before, it is a paid for site its gives a strong indication its an adult site by definition of required payment, no rules were broken and no one is bending anyones arm to view content

once again I see folks wanting to ban tools, when its how people use them which is the issue.

ban the web because people can view adult content
ban cars because they can drive them into bus queues and hurt people
ban hammers - they can kill
ban ban ban

it makes no sense whatsoever, however i must say this. I am extremely pleased with the mods approach to dealing with this thread - an absolute breathe of fresh air to my day

1 dont close or delete threads unless seriously offensive

3 dont be heavy handed with moderating..... i took that as meaning not giving cautions left right and centre

and the poll .... well i think most people find caravans annoying but we dont ban them.

i find gay marriages offensive but no one is going to ban them . i find burkas offensive they are not banned either.
i dont like lots of things in society, but i tolerate them .

so ok if im in the minority fine, but i'll keep fighting for the odd boob and bum

well if this was stated in the first place when the thread first appeared we would not be having this forum.

considering when i left a few years ago it was being run by mav and on the verge of being took over by Bat21 i wouldnt have known that it was okay for bums and boobs. even as i was a moderator back then.

now i just dont see the point of the poll at all

as for caravans on here theres a lot of members using the truck to pull a caravan or trailer tent so there is a connection(even if its only by the towball)

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in the poll and also all the valuable input both for and against the subject.
As you all will see, it was a close run thing and as such there was not really a winner nor a loser.
I think what has come out of the pole is that first and foremost we are all here due to our joint interest in our 4x4's, we all enjoy a bit of banter and a joke and as such we like to share it with others, but what you feel may be acceptable may not be acceptable to others.
I think we are all adult enough to move on and self moderate without the need for Bat or the Mods to come down heavy handed on us and maybe we'll think twice about the content of what we post.
Lets put this to bed now and get on with enjoying the great community that the Nissan 4x4 Owners Club is.
