My mpg always LOOKS good on the guage at half way, but seems to drop big time on the last quarter
It's not linear, you'll just have to do it properly and fill up and do the maths |

341 miles and 69.93lts fuel. Maybe cleaning the air flow sensor has paid off. Brian |

31 mpg today up to Warwick Castle and back. Either the K&N is working wonders or the 50mph though the M1 road works had something to do with it ;O)
Either way the cars running so much better with the induction filter but it has got the most annoying whistle Brian |

well I'm the first one to pick holes in bullshit mpg claims but this is gods honest truth...
during my trip to France, I've been putting 300-400ml of 95% alcohol in the tank (about 2 euros in BricoDepot for a litre, cheaper than vodka )...the last full tank I ran through was under my usual 'foot on the floor' driving conditions and I got a gobsmacking 35.5 mpg..even on the way back on the autoroute, towing a heavily laden twin axle trailer at 80mph I was still getting mid-20s which is unheard of for me with a trailer...BUT, as others who've been there may have noticed, french diesel is much superior to the shite we get over here...car runs much better and more quietly, mainly as a result of their judicious use of bio.... |

On one of the caravan forums I've read a thread saying just the same. Many members saying how good their fuel consumption is when abroad.
Is there anything us Brits don't get ripped off with ? |

i generaly average 25/26 mpg with a mix of towing and not towing, towns, country lanes and motorways. Some times outrunning boy racers at the lights and sometimes taking it easy listening to radio two.

and the price has backed off to a reasonable 1.18 euros off the autoroute, around 1.29 euros on it....still cheaper than the UK, yet their unleaded is more expensive by quite a bit....
