my first car was a ford anglia 997 cc , i loved it , but found it a bit under powered for a 17 yr old lol , i bought a 1200 cc version...omg the difference !!!!, also had a nsu prinz and a ford tuarus , but upon reaching the old age of 20 i decided to start racing motorbikes , and my last one ( i crashed at olivers mount ) was a pagett yamaha rd 250 .
the reason i bought my mistral was quite simple , i needed a auto car that could carry my electric wheelchair and was within my budget . |

Converted from a company car (Merc estate) and needed seven seats so bought a brand new disgusting purple (aubergine actually) Maverick...kept that three years then bough an automatic MkII terrano, also new, did 175k miles in that, now in Extremes custody, last year bought a Mk IV to haul a building trailer around and never got round to selling it again

The first car I had use of, was a Maestro, in red. Then I got mi dads montego, loved that. Then I got an astra 1.4, had that a short while then got rid for a Clio 1.4RT, which I loved but it was very troublesome and saw the start of my spiralling debt issues! Next up was an awesome Mazda 323f, 1.5 engine and megga super stupidly quiet, I adored that car so much but my cousin borrowed it and shafted a nice huge dent down the side. I traded that in for a Honda Prelude 2.3l 4ws, now this car was awesome. J reg, but was so advanced it had a full length digital dash, four wheel steer and very powerful and looked awesome, it was almost mint. Lost that then ended up with an old Sierra Sapphire classic. Sold that, got my current Mazda MX6 which is the best car I have ever gad, then I got a Daihatsu Fourtrak, then my Maverick. Reason I got the Mav is because I wanted something capable off road for some fun, but good on the road. Then needed it for towing. We also had a Renault 5 but that's gone now!

The best was the mazda never lets us down ,then the volvo (177,000 mls, went on to do over 250,000 mls) Loved the terrano leaked water. cut out, worse it would then cut in at high revs when i nearly hit a scaffold lorry on a roundabout i took back to nissan .they looked it up on their records and could find no trace of my complaints, gave me good money for it and off the d22, took it and left them with the lemon Joy oh joy! We had a vw polo but the boy creamed it. Assorted motor bikes from BSA bantam to suziki trials(wrapped round a lampost in Nottingham ) Tony |

Pap paps
Not a huge history,
C reg, 1275 A series Metro Mayfair was my first car & I loved it to bits, drove her all over the country & we regularly went to Glasgow, Norwich & London without so much as a hiccup. Biggest problem I had was a broken engine mount, always regretted selling that car. Second car was a awful, awful Suzuki SJ413 I don't know what possessed me to buy it. But I got ripped off & lost a lot of money, I worked in a biker pub at the time & I wish I had taken up some the lads offers of paying the guy a visit for me! Third car was boring 106 diesel, ate its head gasket in the first month of owning it & was a money pit from there on. Then I got made redundent & I sold the 106, didn't have a car for a year while I was looking for a decent job. Got a decent job & needed a car quick, so a mate who worked at a Ford dealership got me a part exchanged Nova for a £1! It had 12 months mot, 12 months tax, starship milage & was a bleeding death trap. Did the job though & got me to work & it was fun using walls for brakes. Sold that to scrappy for £25 & got a little tax back too. Next was 02 Smart city Coupe with a 150 miles on it & was a hoot to own. That was the first time I experienced the joys of car forums & owners clubs, The Smartclub had some great folks on it & I had loads of fun going to meets & shows. Later on when the little 600cc engine started to wear out I started tuning the little car, by the time I had finished with her, she had the larger engine from a Roadster, uprated suspension & brakes & a host of other goodies! It went like stink & the induction noise on boost was a bit of a head turner. With exception of the bike conversion cars I imagine it was among one of the most powerful little Smarts in the country! Sadly the car died down a country lane that had recently been resurfaced poorly, four cars in two weeks came off on the same 300y stretch before they came back & resurfaced it with gripperer stuff & put up a bunch of signs! Now I have my nutty little go kart that you can see it here... http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/f...php?albumid=72 I'm currently saving for a SWB Terrano van, so I can tow my little beastie to track days & possibly some hill climbs in the future (if I can wangle the weekends off work). I'm hoping the Terrano will be a little more comfortable to drive to work as well, the drive in the stripped out tin can is fun but far from relaxing! |

Ah now, if we are talking work cars, here's my work list:
Lamorghina gallardo spider ( that's been trashed now!) lotus exige focus sti Chrysler 300c merc slk Audi a4 Mitsubishi shogun citreon berlingo(shite) we used to have an Evo 10 360, that got trashed so never got to try it, we also had a Subaru wrx, we sold that. Our md's love their cars, I've driven them all except the merc, and the lotus, although have been out in the lotus and that's just mentally fast . The lambo was awesome!! The subaru, if I'm honest, was crap, fast, but crap. |

Bought 1993 L plate Terrano when was 17 (always loved 4x4s) had that for few month then started proper work. dad said they wouldn't give me a van straight away at BT so said to get something economical and newer, so bought a Y reg Mondeo, 2nd day at BT got a van!!!!!!!!!. hated the mondeo so sold it and bought a 4.0litre Jeep. Loved it but was so un economical (12mpg!!). So traded it in 3 months later for a 1999 T plate terrano SWB. Loved that, but sold it this january for a Merc C class auto Kompressor
Always had isuzu troopers for off-roading. currently got a P reg Trooper for off-road use. Think once I'm bored of the Merc i'll go back to a Terrano/Patrol auto |
