Terrano starter motor replacement.
Hi there, can anyone provide any tips or advice on how to replace the starter motor on a 98 diesel terrano?

Take the wheel off and remove the rubber splash guard then you can get directly at the starter motor. Other than that its just like any other starter motor - disconnect battery before you start.

when I did mine recently, it was out from above for the old one, and back in the same way. I found that I couldnt get mine out the side because of TWO pipes that I couldnt move. Out from above gets tricky again because of a couple of solid pipes, but you just wiggle it and it pops out nicely. Definatley need to access from the wheel though because of the bottom bolt.

Thanks for that, I've just removed the motor from the block, was wondering which direction it should go! I must say, the old girls 11 years old & the two bolt threads were like new. I was able to wind them out with me fingers - quality!
