What 4x4 on a tight budget... Top Gear style lol
Was talking about this with Pete & finally got round to doing it
The following is NOT fact & just my unofficial guide Please add to it or modify if your a MOD I've decided to give myself a buying budget of £500 to buy the 4x4 & another £500 to do it up... Think this is realistic for an average earner... All items are off ebay & tyres are from www.camskil.com These are the 4x4's i would like to own for off roading (this is hypothetical) In no particular order... 1.Land Rover 90 2.Land Rover series 3 3.Disco 4.Suzuki Vitara 5.Suzuki Jimmy 6.Range Rover 7.NISSAN Terrano / Maverick 8.Daihatsu 4 track 9.NISSAN Patrol 10.Toyota Surf 11.Jeep Wrangler 12.Isuzu Trooper 13.Jeep Cherokee 14.Mitsubishi Pajero 15.Mitsubishi Shogun 16.Vauxhall Frontera & the ebay search result... 1.Land Rover 90 - 0 2.Land Rover series 3 - 0 3.Disco - £495 4.Suzuki Vitara - £295 5.Suzuki Jimmy - £175 6.Range Rover - £430 7.NISSAN Terrano / Maverick - £300 (average buy it now price (T1) ) 8.Daihatsu 4 track - £495 9.NISSAN Patrol - 0 10.Toyota Surf - 0 11.Jeep Wrangler - 0 12.Isuzu Trooper - £550 13.Jeep Cherokee - £175 14.Mitsubishi Pajero - 0 15.Mitsubishi Shogun - 0 16.Vauxhall Frontera -£325 So it looks like the Terrano is the most capable in standard form from the list... Now which is the easiest to do up... The tyres for all the below to be fair are 31x10.50R15 Maxxis Buckshots x4 £271.80 1.Disco - 2.Suzuki Vitara - 3.Suzuki Jimmy - 4.Range Rover - 5.NISSAN Terrano / Maverick - 6.Daihatsu 4 track - 7.Isuzu Trooper - 8.Jeep Cherokee - 9.Vauxhall Frontera - |

+ a set of +2" springs - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...STRK:MESELX:IT
And some shocks to suit - I beleive if you PM that vendor he can list some for £39.95 a shock IIRC - with club discount all in £230 if you collect so just a smidge over your £500 budget but a rocking offroader is built. |
