I pity the moderators really, having to read posts with poor spelling,no punctuation, and often words missing, and then be expected to make sense of them!!!!

I read through all topics every day and check all links and presume others do too. I've been away this weekend though so just catching up now.
I wonder if you actually read what you write, do you ever press preview or check your own links? maybe if you did then you woulndn't make so many mistakes in your efforts to contradict and point out peoples failings. Quote:

Yes oops, the link was wrong, mustn't have hit copy properly and just ended up linking to the last thing I copied instead.
My point was that this seems to be the most recent in a line of absolutely unnecessary moderations - I know whats involved in being a moderator as I do it myself on another forum and have previously being an administrator too. I do however agree (at times) with some of the language and politcial moderations. Take today, you (Andy I assume) have just split off and formed a new thread about GLASS, yet when someone did just the same off their own back (about a SPEEDBOAT - happy) the thread got closed As for my typos - well yes everyone slips up now and again but compared to some of the nonsensical posts, I don't think I fare badly on the whole, at least you can understand what I meant, which is more than can be said for some posts, including one not too far away. |

Yes but surely Simon if your a moderator on another forum you must also appreciate how difficult it can be sometimes for people to moderate efficently and for most of us its a learnig process.
If instead of starting a new thread in what was probably a temper, you had contacted the moderator he would probaly have been only too glad to expalin his reasoning. I am always prepared to answer any questions on any decisions I make and back them with reason if required. Failing this you can appeal to any other moderator or to the site administration for an aribitatioanl descision. Starting an agruementative thread is not only below you but hardly constructive, I know you are capable of better and rational discussion is not beyond you. Quote:
Incidently, I split the other thread to stop it from wandering off topic and because GLASS is an interesting topic on its own. As a moderator, as you know we have a call to make, to try and keep things tidy, on topic and reasonably relevant. I feel for the most of the time the moderators on here do that. But as I've stated elsewhere on here, you can't please all the people all the time, or seemingly nowadays even some of the people some of the time. |
