Diesel Powerbox Survey - Please Help?
I thought it would be a good idea if we had a single thread that helped to compare the various options available in terms of bolt-on power boosters like Powerbox, Tunit, etc, but also including ECU remapping where anyone has had this done....
If you have or have had one, can you please tell us the following: 1. What make/model is it? (and is it a bolt-on device or an ECU remap?) 2. How much did it cost? 3. What are the visible benefits (extra power, mpg etc..) 4. How adustable is it by the owner, as opposed to the installing workshop? 5. How easy is it to fit/remove? 6. Recommended installer if not the OEM? 6. General level of satisfaction and any other comments. Thanks in anticipation! Paul PS If anyone thinks of any other info that would be useful by all means request it... |

2) bought 2nd hand - £200. 3) ALOT more torque lower down, turbo boosts properly and spools faster and harder. MPG improved by 2-3mpg. 4) Off the shelf- not adjustable by the end user, with the help of an electronics engineer, somewhat adjustable. 5) Plug in. - 5 mins. 6) For the normal user- 95% satisfaction. As I have taken my truck further the powerbox is limited by its un-adjustability compared to a remap, which itself it only adjustable with a laptop and the correct software, but allows far more detailed and accurate adjustments specific points in load / rev range etc. Does this help? |

Morning
Just got to see this and have a bit of info that may help! I spoke to the guys at Tunit a while back when deciding which one to get myself. It seems theirs is more tunable/adjustable after install than PSI. They also said it would cope with a bigger turbo too, as I hope to be doing soon They're in house techy seemed very helpful, so on that basis I'm going thjere at the mo Unless this survey turns up a surprise |
