Default My Caravan roof

Hi people,

I have a Lunar Quasar 615 t/a 2005 model caravan.
About a year ago whilst Ivisited the London Caravan show at EXEL I spoke to a sales rep from the company because I was very concerned about the dipping on our caravan roof it was collecting water as the dips were about 5-6mm 8O deep. The sales rep from Lunar arranged to have our caravan returned to the factory and we were to have a new roof fitted 8O :!: . Well as you all know we went away this year in our TOURING caravan to Italy on our return .......Yes youv'e guessed it I was washing the van and 8O -banghead- well blow me down ..............it's collecting water again so today we met the SAME sales rep from lunar and now he tells me that distortion should be expected. NOW do I look that stupid ops:  of course I know that, but he has also admitted that it is the same problem as before and guess what ..... :?: yep he wants to take it back to the factory AGAIN to have ANOTHER roof fitted  ops: 8O .

The reason I am telling this tale of woe, are there any members out there who either have a flat roofed caravan could tell me if this is normal, Iknow it will have a small bit of distortion but as the salesman at Grantham Caravans said B-----y hell looks like some one has bounced a basketball all over the roof 8O if anyone has got any pics of the roof of their van could you please e-mail them to me to have a look at.

As per the norm reviews comments are always very welcome on this subject.

It never rains it always poors (and then collect on the roof of my van  .

Regards

Dave the Duck

Hi dave.

We've got a bailey vendee2005 and I wash the roof quite often after trips and theres no problem wth the one piece roof in fact I seen an advert somewhere that had 5 people standing on the roof of a bailey, not going to try it though , there's obviously a problem. It would be great if you could be there when they do take the roof off to see for yourself.

I've got a 2005 Bailey Provence, same as Vendee and no problems. Wouldn't try to stand on it though  It does seem to flex a bit when washing.

We have a 2005 Bailey Ranger, and with the fact we store it at the side of the house I can say without any doubt that the roof does not collect water in any significant quantities: the window on the bedroom landing overlooks the roof, so while I can see it is dirty, I can see it does not hold water either.

Why not ask for a extension to the warranty to cover all problems you have had.Get the roof checked by a independant engineer before and after.Dinky

Hi, maybe you should get the Trading Standards involved because the Sale of goods act has been breached and the van is not fit for purpose!

I have pointed out to the dealer that this is against trading standards but allthey did was get the rep in from Lunar. the only other bit of hope there is a new service manager starts monday and she has been there since the day we turned up to collect our caravan and she knows us and that we paid cash for it. she has said if we have not heard from Lunar by Monday (pigs will fly) she will get onto them everyday, and then when the caravan is back there she is going to tell them we don't want it back so they should give customer their money back  . We wait in anticipation :|

Life like that mony python song.......Always look on the bright side of life .........lifes a bit of a pane sometimes when you look at it :!: :!: :!:
