Sad News Of The Vulcan Bomber
Hi All, have a look at this web link for what I and others think is very sad news indeed. The only flying Vulcan Bomber may already have flown her last flight and even worse may also be sold off possibly leaving the country.

Been there done that and bought the Teeshirt. Glad I made the effort to go and see it last year, I just think it's bloody shame that government can't give them a million or even half that. Even the RAF adopt it in some way. It would be a shame for it to become another static display decaying or even worse leave the country.

Donations
Ive donated twice in the past, once at an Imperial war museum airshow and once at an Elvington airshow.
Of course it needs the big wonga from somewhere. Lottery perhaps ? The trouble is these old war planes cost lots of money just to keep them parked up on the ground never mind air worthy. Could it be a victim of this horrible credit crunch were experiencing ? I agree it is very sad too but it needs a rich enthusiast to keep this baby alive and running and thez plenty and more of them in America. Ive signed the petition. |

you watch, it'll end up in mid east, like qe2. wonder if rather than making floating
hotel permanetly moored they have a secret plan to retain sailing ability as clearly could make more on the open sea than moored in dubai. perhaps will be buying up concords next. after all who didnt have the dream to do concord to NY and QE2 back or v.v.

Hi Dadba, that's good more of our heritage saved. Wouldn't it be nice if they got them flying too, if only there were more money around and engines in their case.

Did anyone see the Vulcan appeal on the ITV news tonight. Just checked and they are now over 600,000 with 3 days to go, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do it.
