The borrowers

HI sorry not a very good picture .
This tree has been called the Borrowers tree by the locals for the last 24 years that I know to.
The tree has some small ereas that the bark has come away up to 5ft high .
At some point these were painted to look like windows and doorways.
A little brass door knob and letterbox were also added.
plus a name plate The Borrowers Cottage.
People come from miles around with there children to leave gifts and letters to the Borrowers .
Someone has replied to the letters and kept this going ,dispite the vandals and ncc cutting the grass and the borrowers garden at same time .
Apparently there are other trees the Borrowers have adopted .
do you know of any.
We used to take our Vicky there most Saturday evenings on way home from grandparents home .
One christmas there was lots of decorations in the headge and on the tree itself.
Looked great lit up in the car headlights.
ITS STILL NOT KNOWN WHO STARTED IT BUT IT WAS BEFORE THE TV PROGRAM OF SAME NAME.
I SUSPECT OTHERS ARE NOW KEEPING IT GOING.
