"A" Bar
Hi all, could some one tell me how to fit an "A" bar on the front of my T2.If i was to match the four holes at the bottom,it seems i'll have to cut the bumper to attach the two other clamps half way up the bar.
Do i have to take the bumper off to attach these to the metal behind the bumper, put the bumper back on and cut a slit in the bumper so they join up.??if anybody wants pictures please email me!!  :?: |

Looking at the car in your avatar you take off the grill between the headlights and there are pre drilled holes for mounting points.
The only models you needed to drill the bumper on were pre 1996 Take grill off and have a look. You also need to buy the correct ABar for the year of the car, Its not one size fits all

I was just wondering if the bar has to have those top brackets,it would fit if i grind them of and have it on the four bolts at the bottom,i've seen other 4x4s with them attached only at the bottom?? :?:

Mine attachs by two in the middle and two at the bottom, very fiddly to do the middle ones but I used mine till I worked out how to do it (attach the middle bolts  )I think you will find it makes the bar more secure . Can't you redesign the brackets a bit :?: grind them off they will never be the same again :? .

My Mistral has an A-Bar that is only connected at the bottom - No top brackets.
All the best, Matt. |
