Default Newbie looking for ka24 Terrano info

Found these forums googling for the location of the fuel filter on a ka24 Terrano 2, bought one to replace and for the life of me i couldn't find it!
I can't seem to find a search function on these forums either normally my first port of call.
Is it above the fuel tank where the lines come out, or in that insane mess that is the intake side of engine bay?
Any help is much appreciated

Hi, welcome aboard. I reckon the search function may only be available for paid membership sorry.

There are one or two people on here with experience of the petrol engine, I'm sure they'll be along later today.

Fuel filter is under the chassis rear of drivers door, Rick

10 spike ground anchor, with multiple straps and blocks
Super strong body cills capped with scaffold pole
20% stronger springs all round
aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

Can verify what rick says as I used to have a 2.4 petrol .
Mine was in the exact same place.
Small white plastic cylinder joined into the fuel line

Maybe someone removed it an just joined the pipes together or even replaced the fuel lines and did not bother with the filter, if either is the case I would be fitting your new one in the engine bay, make sure the clips and hose you use are good as fuel is under pressure of around 60psi fuel pump is in the tank, always thought it odd that they put the filter after the pump as the pump needs good clean fuel as it is a fine tolerance bit of kit, Rick

That is a strange one, certainly the case with the 2.7, is there no pre filter in the pump like the 2.7's have the gauze filter in the banjo bolt....... sometimes

On the petrol there is the normal nylon bag fitted to the pump but clearly a lot of very small debris gets through as I have experienced an almost blocked filter under the chassis, Rick

Thanks for all the responses, I found it and changed it over today, I still smell like fuel haha.
A service, cat gutting and fuel filter has certainly improved it but it feels like it still doesn't rev smoothly, going to give the TB a clean next and maybe look at the spark plugs.
Anybody have any other suggestions on things to try?
It just feels choked up, low on power and doesn't rev freely.

Blocked up or stuck egr valve caused mine to run like a bag of shite.
I changed the plugs,leads and air and fuel filter before I found the problem.

The MAF can be cleaned on these, very gently with a cotton bud dipped in alcohol or pure acetone (not the Mrs nail varnish remover it has oils in it) the EGR will almost certainly be passing, every one I have had off had stuck partly open, another thing to check is the fuel pressure (you will need to make up a tee piece for this) and insert it in the feed line, as you stand at the OSF wing looking toward the throttle body the left pipe is the feed the right hand one under the little turret with the vac pipe on it is the return and it has two pressure settings, one under light load more fuel is alowed to flow back to the tank two under heavyer load the valve closes so upping the pressure, worth checking this valve is working and that the vac pipes are all in place, good luck, Rick
