Life after Terrano ownership
Know i've not been on for a while so hope everyone is keeping well Well it's been 2 months since I parted company with my Terrano but i'm really enjoying it's replacement ie a 60 plate Mondeo titanium 2.0 tdci 140, having an auto again has been a god send & found i'm now driving more often than I was. The days of driving like an old fart to try & gain some sort of mpg have now gone & i'm back to my old ways of having some fun on the twisty back roads but still getting returns of 47mpg (mixed driving but a lot around the doors) which i'm more than happy with. The big test for me was last week when it was put to work towing our caravan & all I can say is wow felt nicely planted to the ground like the T2 did but pulled like a train & just powered up the hills only dropping down to 5th where I would have had to drop to 3rd in the T2 & at around 30mpg towing I was over the moon with. Still miss the driving position & height of the T2 plus it's ground clearance as I now have to slow down for speed bumps & getting on/off my drive is a right pain due to only having about 10mm clearance under the front bumper because of the kerb is so high
Funny enough I saw my old truck today & tbh it was looking a bit sad for itself, yes I stripped bits off before it went but it looked as if it hadn't been washed since I last did it that wasn't the worst the poor girl sounded very rattly |

Life after Terrano Ownership !
Good to see your post, our Terrano r3mR was sold on the 3rd August 2013 we had a Santa Fe but that was written off due to two accidents in a week one being a non stop. We now have a WJ series Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD auto.
Our Jeep arrived on the 21 st February 2015 we have just covered 18,000 miles in her with 5 trips to France and no breakdowns or major issues she averages around 25 mpg on daily use and returns 30-35 on long trips. It took a time to get used to the Jeeps ride on poor roads (Jiggly rear axle due to aftermarket stiffer rear ARB) but now the wife loves it and is already saying she would have another in a few years time when it's due for a change. I would prefer to have an ML next but at present she likes the Jeep and it's her car so it's her call at the end of the day. I can only advise ! |
