Not happy,facebook again
I don't use face book much I may go on once a day just to see if I have any messges from friends etc,I never post any thing, but I also have it on my phone.
anyway I was just trying to free up some memory on the phone and came across the permissions on the phone for facebook, these are the things you agree to when you download the app., and they are stored in my phone. You can then click on each one for an explanation of that permission. So if you have Face book on you phone you agree to let them: See when you are using you phone Read all your text messages and see any photos you send Use your phone to take pictures and video at any time without your consent Use your phone to record audio at any time without your consent. Know exactly where you are at any time. Look at all the contacts in you phone and see who you call when and how often. Change add and remove items from your calendar, including sending messages that appear to come from you. Modify or delete items from your SD card Add and remove accounts and set pass words Download files without notification. Control vibration and prevent phone from sleeping Pluss others! Do you realy want this on your phone ? I have deleted it now ! |

Mind you, the above is valid if you actually give it access. At least half of these things are switched off in my phone, same for other apps (because facebook is by far not the only app wanting access).

Haven't had facebook on the phone for years for precisely this reason. The worst is that you have to accept these terms in order to use the apps, err no! I don't actually have to use the app.
I feel for the youngsters who accept all these conditions and don't care that they're handing over what should be private information, for free! |

I use facebook and other tools to communicate with friends, but never had an issue with loss of privacy. I have one golden rule though: if something should stay private, don't put it on the internet - or make pictures of it using your smartphone |

When ever I download a new app, I always check to see what permissions it wants access to.
Anything I'm not happy about & I don't download it. My contacts, pictures & what I do with my own phone is private unless I wish them to know. Face book........ Don't even bother with the s^%t |

Sadly this is the digital life and the amount of data gained about us by third parties is worrying for sure. We all create digital footprints even our computers aren't safe anymore if they ever were. Just do some searching about windows 10. After the end of July when the free upgrade route ends just watch microshaft drop older operating systems like a hot potato.
As you go down the road take a look around you, cameras everywhere. The authorities have a nationwide network of anpr cameras, they can tell where you are pretty much most of the time and also what speed you are doing. Sadly the list is endless of invasion of privacy. One last note, how about Google buying medical records from the NHS that are not anonymous either. |

Yes, apparently we're the most watched nation. Makes you think why! Very slowly our rights are being taken away, so slow that we hardly notice. In a way, I'm pleased I don't have any kids. I just wonder what it will be like in another fifty years when I'm gone |
