Ok, so me and kim decided to go to our favourite lanes today, we usually tackle it the other way, now we found out what happens the other way.

We met some lovely quicksand and a wall of mud that stopped me dead.

Also a big log got caught in my steering as you will see in the videos.

Good fun no doubt mate

Even with a winch it's not best practice to go on your own though.
That said , a bit more beans on the first run may just have given you the escape route you needed

Keep it safe mate and just use your jacket or a car mat or the wife's skirt

A face full of angry wire is not nice

Also worth sticking a bit of tape on your steering wheel so you know where straight ahead is . That and open your window and have a spy to where they're pointing .just like a landy driver

Seems my steel cable is damaged, from what I do not know, but it has twisted and crushed the cable in certain points. Dyneema time I think...

The crushed wire will be from when you were steering away from the pull I guess. The wire fights over itself. It should still be ok but nasty looking and twistered .
Another reason for not going solo , Synthetic is indeed easier to manage. That said you still need to manage it well. When you get done pull out all the wire or rope and clean it down, then reload it with a squirt of maintenance spray for steel

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.
