Default What classifies a Terrano as a commercial?

So just reading up on the tax cut a commercial receives, what is needed for me to do this to my lwb?

I take it I cant just send the papers off

You would prob have to take out all of the rear seats & seatbelts for a start & poss have to black out the rear windows which I know is done to the disco 2 & shogun commercial's Yes road tax is cheaper but IIRC you pay more to use toll roads etc

And I reckon your insurance company would also take their cut too.

Right not a simple swap over then. Wondered if it was an "anyone can apply" jobbie

yeah, rear windows would have to be paneled up, and seats belts totally removed.

as far as insurance, prob not a lot of difference, except for the fact it would have been an after market conversion, which would probably make a huge difference. so all in all best to buy a commercial factory made if thats what your're after.

Yeh very true, I was wondering how little could be done to save £80 but sounds like it's far from worth it

If you have not had commercial insurance before you will start with ZERO NCB
When I told my insurers I had taken the rear seats out they wanted to class me as commercial, NCB was not a problem for me until recently I had a van too. BUT the premium would go up
I took a while to persuadethem is would only take an hour or two to put it back as a 7 seater

When I did the Maverick they wanted a massive list of things and then a test at a VOSA testing station then another fee on top of that to get the V5 changed and the tax band changed, it wasn't really worth the saving

Some of the main jobs you'd need to do would be;

Remove Rear Seats and any other additional benches
Remove all seat belts and anchor points
Tint/Panel up rear side windows (rear window optional)

My Terrano which was a commercial from the factory under the "Body" section now displays as "Light 4x4 Utility" whereas my SWB Maverick just displayed "Estate"

have used adrian flux in past, they are very good.
had subaru legacy before this truck so didn't bother going back as already mid term insurance already running.

as far as insurance on commercial not sure, i have business use on my insurance and actually made it cheaper !!

both times i've used business insurance it got my premiums DOWN.

remember peeps, if you do any one a favour and get paid or rewarded with diesel sweeties or anything that can be traded you need business ins.

i had to have it for 4x4 response when i did all that, but always used since, as even charitable work which is reimbursed can get you in trouble.

and as i said, it made MY premiums go down, could for you. I need it as i use my truck for riding club work, so have to have it anyway, but would never be without it now.
