Default paypal accounts

anybody had trouble with them lately?
mine is doing my head in

I have had trouble with it for some time. they asked me to update my account a while back which I thought I had completed

I have just sold a load of stuff to go towards my wales trip.
and all the payments have gone into my old account which I cannot access.
I cant get into my old email address to change the password to access my paypal.
I phoned paypal and they found my money but cant help me as they cant access passwords.

they can reset it through the post in about 2 weeks.
I used my own money to buy some stuff ready for my wales trip thinkin I could transfer my funds within a couple of hours.

frustrated is an understatement.
I gave up smoking 5 weeks ago. I really need one now

Make sure the email address for your paypal is updated on ebay. Could be why the money went into your old account.

There have been quite a few scammers pretending to be from PayPal, so watch out for that.
The fact that PayPal know where your money is, means it's safe at least.

I set up a seperate bank account, with a debit card, linked to my PayPal account.
This way there is a buffer, as I control the amount of money in there, and reduces the risk of some *#'$¥* trying to empty it, and I can use telephone banking to transfer money into it.
As soon as I transfer the money, it is in the account within minutes, and I can then buy to that new limit immediately using PayPal.
This way I don't have to wait days to top it up.
When I do sell stuff, I can transfer it out of PayPal, and into my bank account, BUT this can take over a week or more.

When I buy road tax on line, I transfer money into the bank account and use it as a debit card, thus avoiding paying the Credit card charge.
I also use the account to buy things on line too.

Our main account is not linked, as I don't trust on line banking

Pretty sure I will get my money eventually.
Just having a moan as today's been pretty shitty.
Its been a great day to clean windows.but o stayed at home to chat to my insurance surveyed. I had a lot of roof damage in strong winds earlier I'm the year.
I lost a days wages for him to tell me they wont pay as the ridge tile cement is to blame cause it 60℅ damaged.
A very frustrating day. Time for a beer I think

We've had a few scam e-mails come around at work recently saying people have been credited for stuff they haven't even sold but there has been a breach of security and that they will need to call a number to gain access to these funds

Why did you give up smoking buddy? I'm in The Lake District at the moment staying in a holiday cottage in Ambleside and I've been on the bong Saturday night and going to have another go tonight

at this point in time I am asking myself the same question mate
a bong or ten would be nice about now.
im starting to think I am being scammed.
I set up and entered my new paypal account earlier.I also signed in about 4 times to this new account without any problem at all.
it didn't show any previous activity at all. but at least I was safe in the knowledge any more payments would be sent to this account. and yes I updated the email address on ebay.
I have had another £100 come in this evening.and I cannot access my account at all

Having read post 7 (came in while I was typing) I would not trust the new account unless direct contact with paypal confirms it is valid, these scammers are very cleaver in setting up false accounts that look like a paypal account, Rick

How are you down? Have you sent the goods already?

Have you rang paypal from the number provided on their website? How do you know £100 has just gone into your account you can't access?

Record the phone call with them confirming the money is safe, that's what I'd do
