Today was nice out!!!!

I got under mine and removed my front prop and front downpipe due to a blowing flexi to then find out the one I brought from James is too long and wont fit

Now means I'm going to be running no exhaust until Monday but it sounds like a monster truck and the turbo spool and whistle is immense

It was beautiful up until half two & I was just refitting my LHS hub after changing the disc. Hailstones...........I just thought 'Yep....figures'

Finding out stuff doesn't fit is fun, isn't it?

The best way is to warm the oil first, by placing the container in a bucket of hot water...

If only you had asked...

same with gearbox oil, warm it up first
long tube and funnel ,
only talking from experience ,
stood there for nearly an hour pouring it in slowly

I warmed up the second litre. Just didn't occur to me

Having said that, I'd spent the day changing the discs & pads on the Wagon, plus changed the engine oil & filter, & CV Joint boot, so I was a bit tired. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it

I have now completed the rear diff oil change a couple of times, but last year I bought an Oil Suction Gun from Machine Mart, which I used last weekend to change the rear diff oil.

I can confirm that it worked a treat, and I didn't drop any significant amount of oil, or have to become a contortionist to get the bottle in the right position.

I would highly recommend it, with my only reservation being you need to use some reasonable force to suck the oil out of the bottles with it. I never thought of warming it first, which would have definitely made it more viscous.

I imagine that it could be used to do the gearbox as well as the front diff.

Sorry to pick you up on this point, you mean less viscous, ie easier to flow.
