A casualty whilst changing my battery
So, something you guys will prob enjoy,
Whilst changing my battery today i was prepared, I had my whole tool box, gloves, ready for any eventuality So kept my doors open i case it locked when disconnected, changed over the battery, ratcheted the terminals all nice and tight, put the plate to hold the battery down in place, cranked the terrano, great, she fired right up, let her warm right up, then I thought right, I'll take her for a spin So I get in my baby, in gear handbrake off, crawl forwards slowly and hear and feel this awful crunching, as I found once before was wet drums has bound overnight. "Jesus these drums are bound well" I'm thinking. Then I realise it's not he drums as i stop and reverse. So I get out and look underneath to find my tool box crushed under the terrano She's not a little box either, its a 5 drawer toolbox Only me eh |

Ouch.....
Always do a full walk round after working on a car.... I have a pet hate of people who drive forward into driveways, and then reverse out onto a road from that driveway, it's so dangerous, and illegal. But..... if I am working on the front of the car, I drive in forward, that way, all the tools are at the back of the drive, so I never have to worry about doing that.. |

It's called "FOD Plod", some of you may understand that term.
It could of been a whole lot worse, a tool box can be replaced. |

Vehicle mishaps !!
Quote:
Luckily the garage door pushed the bonnet down at such an angle it pushed the suspension down and the door got past the top of the bonnet with a bit of scuffing and noise. Pristine paintwork now not quite so pristine ! Now I always switch off the garage door power when I am working on the car. |

Ah yes, the good old FOD Plod, I remember doing one of those for real at RAF Brampton whilst in the air cadets after a coke can took out one of the jet engines on a Harrier GR4, we were there on a summer camp

It was a great experience doing a real FOD Plod with real RAF ground crew for a real reason, I need to see if I can dig out some of my old pictures
