Default Friends of Nissan 4x4, should it be a fiver again?

In the distant past there used to be a facility for those who had been fully paid members (perhaps it could be for 2 or more years if we did it again) to stay on for half price if they sold their Nissan. Would this be a good way to keep old friends here

It used to work well, and membership seems to be shrinking in the face of social media. having old friends stay with us at a discount has to be a good thing, even if it's at BAt21 or mods discression

Thumbs up Social Membership - good idea

Sounds like a good idea might convince me to stay when my sub has expired.

Trouble is I have been barred from the useless Hyundai Forum seemingly for life unless I change my internet IP !!

Yeah, in fact, we could double it for Ryan, to make sure he doesn't come back...
Now the comment above is a joke, I actually miss Ryan, and so do quite a few of us, especially on modding trucks, removing roof linings and the like.

I think "associate membership" for half price would be a good idea, BUT free access to say some of the forums... say the technical forums should be restricted to prevent misuse of the privilege, unless they are a topic raised by a full member.

There are a lot of past Nissan Owners on here, and we still value their input.
Hearing about other cars and 4x4's only convinces me that I made the right decision when I bought my Maverick over 18 years ago

This forum needs new members, but we also need owners of new Nissan models of 4x4 to join.

How many of the latest Nissan 4x4 owners are registered? a few Xtrail, but very few threads, the odd Navara, and one or two Path finders, but this site is predominantly Terranos (including Mavericks) and secondly Patrols.

Since the Terrano is no longer manufactured, and the average age over 10 years old (best guess) how long can this club continue with what we have?

Rustic you have made some very valid points here, I do not know the answer, but clearly as you say T2 owners are going to diminish over time, my problem (if it is a problem) is I only know about T2's and that is rather limited, Xtrails, Patrols etc I can only generalise, so what I am trying to say is I will be of limited use, can I see redundancy in the distance Rick

It's interesting that there aren't more X Trail, Pathfinder and Navara owners etc on the site, and that it has a Terrano/Patrol centric user base.

I may be flying in the face of popular opinion here, but I think c85 pence a month is brilliant value for money considering the general quality of the resource.

The site belongs to BAT21, and I understand that he had buy it from the previous owner. I' m guessing that he makes a modest profit on his investment, which is fine by me, as that is the way of commerce.

I would respectfully suggest that a number of members could be provided with (cut-price) premium membership, who in BAT21's opinion provide consistent quality posts, that add true value to the forums. I would even go as far to say that I would not mind paying an additional couple of quid a year extra to support such a scheme.

Needless to say... Just an idea?

Regards

Alan

The difference between the £5 & £10 a year is 42p a month or 1.4p per day.... please tell me things arent that bad in Planksville or any other household for that matter

Talking Terrano ageing demographics

As this is such a good website might it be worth expanding the site to a multi franchise one? In the 70's many makes of car were sold new from under the same roof. I worked for a car dealer who sold Vauxhall Audi Opel and Mercedes. We could include other Japanese or Korean marques. Obviously we could not entertain the likes of Land Rover under any circumstances. Lol

Nice idea but, I'm sure there are plenty of sites out there catering for just about every type of 4x4 out there.

For your idea to work we would have to 're brand' as I doubt there would be many Toyota/Suzuki/Mitsubishi etc owners out there wanting to join the Nissan4x4OwnersClub

As others have said, this is predominantly a Terrano/Maverick site and as numbers diminish so will its numbers so many be we need to expand somehow
