Default booked in for me MOT

the old girl is booked in for Friday.
I finally got around to sorting my abs sensor (and keeping hold of my 100notes) it was a simple wire fix

while I was at it I swapped the rear wheels with the front to even wear out a bit.

then my me and me mate started work on my light rail.

I got some 30mm heavy tubing and figured an hydraulic bender would do the job

even though the tube was heafty it just kinked
but that's for another thread.

while changing the wheels I noticed a washer on the wishbone was cracked

so if the mot station know there stuff it will probably fail.
tbh honest I hope they know there stuff very well and find any would be problems before they fail while offroading.
we will see...

you need to stick it on a computer mate.
you need to know which one.

the wire tends to break inside the plastic rendering the sensor useless.

that is the wire between the sensor itself and the plug that goes into the main harness.

unclip the plug and clean, unbolt the two brackets holding the cable to the car. this just gives you easier workspace.
splice the cable as close to the plug as possible and again at the sensor end as close as possible.
bridge with new cable and reset fault codes.

If you are still local enough to me my mate is a very good person to know and has diagnostic computer

or with a multi meter measure resistance when u take plug off then set to volts get some1 to spin wheel and get reading also get some1 to flex wire as may not show up problem with wire in 1 place hope that makes sense do this to all wheels to make sure its just 1 but it common for front 1s to go

How tight was the curve and what bender are you using? Theres some mods to cheap benders which can help it not kink. You could also put sand in the pipe. I tried my bender on some 30mm ish tube and it barely kinked.

we ponderd about filling it with sand but ended up just using 30mm 90 degree elbows and welding them on the end of a straight piece of pipe.
then adding a 3" bit of pipe on to that.

and before anyone shouts PICS.
I will post some when I get chance as I left the bar in the workshop until my lamp brackets turn up.

Still local mate, would be sound if your mate can read my faults how much does he charge ?

he decent bloke mate.
he paid a grand for his computer.
I think he charges £20 quid to diagnose to get a little money back on the computer.
I don't mess with cars myself ( I like helpin and am learning) as I always have bits left over

I wont give you an example of what I paid for what services as I have known him 20 years and he is a good friend and doesn't like charging me much

I have already spoke to him about giving you his number if you want it. that's fine.

the track rod end is loose due to the tosser who tried to track it and wore my outer tyres out quicker than they should.cuz he didn't know his job. [2.2.b.1d]

as seen in eltys videos ( that no one botherd to mention (cheers lads) the top brake light bulb is out.[1.2.1b]

headlamp aim too low(both). I never gave it any thought at the time but I always as told. dip my headlights don't dazzle. I twidled with the beam adjuster knob ta da![1.8]

not working original switch missing , hazard warning switch fault...
they work when the lights are off not on that's why I use a mechanic, I did that wiring [1.4.b1d]

5.
centre seat belt locking mechanism does not secure or release[ 5.2.5a]
I must admit I was a little concerned about this one as skye love to sit in the middle and look out the front window.
so I wanted more info about this one.

Ill show you the problem he said....... he proceded to click the seat belt in. click it went. oh...
dopey fu$£ didn't realise it only clipped in in 1d ( one direction lol )
