Default Question ????

Would there be any benefit on removing the centre box on a tdi and replacing with straight though pipe?

In theory it will help the turbo spool up a little quicker but it'll be small

do you like your neighbours?

seriously, i remember one past member putting a large straight through exhaust on a mistral; ticking over it sounded like a canal boat and when revved the noise was f***in awful! and as it has been said the power improvement probably not even noticeable.

If you want gains from your exhaust system you must start at the turbo.
The turbo exhaust elbow thing is soooo restrictive Bin that and make a nice swept 21/2" system from there with one neighbor friendly cherry bomb in it and ooomph will be yours

Ive currently got a short stubby side exit sure does sound like a tractor only temp till I get a stainless straight through done.

BUT the wastegate sound is very nice and I can feel small amount of gain but I don't use my terrano on the road no more as of last week so doesn't really matter about noise

i have done 2.5" stright through stainless steel pipe on mine lwb with no silicencers on tick over u can hear a small amount of turbo burbling away but no noiserer then with standard now when u pull away it sounds deeper and the sound of the watse gate flutter is very nice power increase cant tell but it want to pull away from lower revs much better i.e when crawling up a hill on tick over put ur foot down on the loud pedal and it picks up alot quicker. i took my car to and mot center to see if it was too loud and he said he would pass it

Mine came with a s/s power flow system, which was nice

But the front pipe is the shitty old one

I might get mij performance in Walsall to make me a nice big fat one at some point
