How come...

when you have finished washing up, you can pull the plug out of the sink, walk away, and when you return to the sink 10 mins later, it is still as full as when you left it, just because 3 peas, a piece of cabbage, and a few grains of rice have instantly made an impenetrable seal over the drain hole

But...

if during the process of washing up, you accidentally pull out the plug, the water can run out of the sink, emptying it in less than 10 seconds????

Where are the peas then?

Shoulds we all be carrying 3 peas just in case we get a radiator leak?

I'm looking for the rip in the space time continuum that consumes every thing that flies away when a circlip is realeased, or falls of the bench in my garage.

As soon as I discover it, I will be able to harness its power to energise myself wherever I want, as in Star Trek

We have a major problem with odd socks in this house.. Ferrets have a fixation on socks and pinch them as soon as they see them, they will even take them off your feet.

So we have not only the washing machine, and tumble dryer making them dissipate into thin air, but the ferrets as well...

I fear that one day I am going to pull out a bit of furniture, and be buried for weeks under a huge pile of odd socks...
