Default Mpg

Guys i had half a tank of derv in the terrano. Iv covered 143 miles i still got quater of a tank left, thats driving at a steady 65 mph.. what you guys think?

Doesn't mean alot, as the gauge is not linear or accurate.
You need to check it to the same point each time, ie Brim full to Brim full or to when the fuel light comes on.
If it was linear I would say it looks good as my mav does approx 400 miles to a tank full, 0r approx 100 miles to a quarter tank.

I don't think I can afford to fill the tank any more... :cry: :cry: there could be £100 worth of diesel there, 80 litres at £1.30 = £104
Just putting £50 in at a time hurts....

I try to keep my tank full, but as I dont need to use terrano every day, infact sometimes only once a week I check mileage each time I fill. I use rev counter rather than speedo on the open road keeping below 2500rpm . 30mpg solo and 25mpg towing a small caravan. my fuel gauge dos not move off full until I have done over 100 miles, but from halve full to empty arrives very quickly .........bri
