fuel line
i'm never that lucky,if its air why would it start ok when its cooled down i was thinking more electrical something breaking down when hot with all the electrics on the fuel pump, when its hot theres fuel to the pump but none out the injector pipes and no air when you use the bleed screw

Dont know much about the y61 but if it is not fly by wire, then wen hot can you detect the pump solenoid clicking? if not check there is power to it if yes then solenoid is sticking when hot, if no then bad connection/relay or ECU, Rick

temp sensor when hot it might be tell the ecu to add to much fuel so it wont start but will do when only warm cor cold for the terrano 2.7 tdi the sensor only costs £9 from euro car parts hope this helps

Do you have any motion from the tacho during cranking with it hot? You have all the symptoms of a dying crank position sensor. Method of failure is little or no output when hot, but fine when cooler.
As someone said, cool it off with an airline, or freeze spray to test. |

update
took it to nissan today,it was on diagnostics for 45 mins inc. test drive,£60 shorter with no error codes showing and they wound the batt flat trying to get it in the garage so they jumped it then put it on the machine, the short of it they say its the batt not putting out enough amps,so i'm trying to get a new batt on warranty from oldham, which is slow and painful
