My other car is a motorbike!
My other toy (apart from my T2). It's a 1978 Suzuki GT380, I bought it as a running wreck from a breaker in 1988, spent 5 years (and shed loads of money) restoring it, even won a few prizes at Classic Motorcycle shows with it. Used it on high days and holidays (if they were sunny) then mothballed it seven years ago. Dragged it out from under its' cover at the back of the garage a couple of days ago, new battery, some air in the tyres and a good clean and away it went, starting and running on seven-year old petrol! Back to the nostalgic smell of two-stroke smoke! Might even put it back on the road for a last fling before it goes. |

beautiful mate. im not a motorbike man myself, but i do love them, and i love the oldies too. My girlfriends dad used to have an old Norton, so his ears tend to prick up when somone mentions old bikes. Great to see you have restored her so superbly, looks fantastic!

Oh yes nice classic. You need to get it to Stafford for the classic bike show.

Thanks guys, I've got a bit attached to this old girl, it was my first restoration (done about six in the past 20 or so years, including a couple of small two strokes, a Honda XL250 Motosport trail bike and even a Vespa, which when it was finished I hated, so it was sold pronto), so Ido have a soft spot for the old GT, even with it's seat with all the comfort of a brick, brakes that Fred Flintstone would be afraid of and four very environmentally-unfriendly trails of blue smoke wherever I go, but hey, it's what they call "character!"
