I'm phoning my local garage in the morning to ask if they can take a look at exhaust and also whilst in the air let me see the rear panels and take photo's. The garage will not be repairing exhaust but to see what's wrong.
Also wife had taken photo's of accident damage and guess what we've now got photo evidence that the chip/flaking paint on tailgate was not there before the repair. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow but I suspect the brown stuff will be hitting the fan. |

Are you by chance a member of AA, RAC, etc I believe they will inspect your motor for you, even if not a member they will still do it for a charge, if faults are found then surely this can be passed back to the insurer, I am only guessing here as not had dealings such as you are having, but stick with it and for what it is worth I would not be taking the car back to the original repair shop, they clearly are not capable of doing the job, Rick

Hmm never thought of AA before and yes we are members.
When I signed the form this afternoon to accept car back I also put a comment that I am disatisfied with repair. |

Well I'm starting to douby myself again and thinking that I'm worrying too much.
Been down to local garage and he's had it up on ramps. Can't see any issues with exhaust, no sign of any heat shield or where it would fit although there are heat shields in other parts of exhaust. Mechanic says he can see where rear paenles have been replaced. When I got home I was able to remove the trim over top of rear panel and to be honnest I can't say for sure if panel work have been replaced or not. I think the only thing now is to find someone else with a Scenic willing to check their boot floor for heat. So I'm gonna have some breakfast and a nice coffee. Speak to Mrs when she gets home. |

Getting things sorted out. The repairer sent out a manager this afternoon. They're having the car back in again next week to replace the missing heat shield and repair/repaint the tailgate.
Can't really afford to replace the car yet but as soon as we can it'll be off in PX just the same. Cheers for the help guys. |
