a good idea is what we have done in the past, put up a post, can anyone help, and let the people decide. Its not an insult to those who need help but dont get it, we just have to be aware of who needs the help greater. Briggies was a fine example, the guy had been skanked into oblivion, twice. Id love to help Jim out, in fact ive offered to donate or help out where i can plus computer fixing favours for anyone who helps him, and I want to donate to HarlowMaverick too but the idea of a permanent pot is dangerous and best left as it is. |

intresting debate to say the least
but i have to agree with against the idea brigade as it would get abused very easily then if you have a loan system you have to be registerd finacial loan company or you come under the label of loan shark not that i am saying you would charge extoronal rate of intrest or send the bully boys around. i mean from a legal point of view. great if members can help out on a personal one to one level or a couple get together and come up with a private arrangment ie if i hadnt had to shell out for a new boikler last week i could have offered finacial help to JT with his clutch as we go back a long way and I know him well. hope this reads right |

On the whole i have to agree with Daved, when you buy a truck and it breaks, you fork out to have it fixed.
I felt briggies plight was worthy and we all chipped in and got him sorted out but where does it end. At the moment my truck needs a new drag link that costs in excess of £200 from Nissan, thats something i'm going to have to fork out for and would not expect you guys to help me out. I think it best if we stick with hands on help rather than financial. |

agreed, we all have stuff that needs fixing, thats the responsibilities of owning something. I wouldnt expect help and im sure Jim for example, doesnt, hes sorting himself out. Im certainly going to help Jim as much as I possibly can because we get along, i live close to him, hes a great guy and has been on this club a very long time.
I feel that having some sort of fund's in place will only get abused, will cause arguemtns and fall outs etc etc so lets stick to the system we have, which is the goodness of peoples hearts helping out where and when they can. |
