f**k me, they hot glued the rcd into position? WTF? its tripping for a reaosn, most likely the wiring isnt up to it, or the shower is faulty. Have you checked the wiring going into the RCD for the shower? what size cable is it? does the shower work properly, i,.e. does it get the water HOT? At what point does it trip, when you turn it on at the cord, or when you turn it on at the shower?

To answer both questions Clive, the pull cord is parminantly on, ie, if you turn it off, it should turn the shower off but won't,there's a main transformer mounted outside the bathroom for the extractor fan, this is probably on a seperate circuit as it doesn't get effected....the shower cuts off as soon as the dial is turned into the red, luckily it is working at a good temp just now.

I guess though that the muppet fitter didn't rewire and it's still on 6mm T&E Do remember any great upheaval of rooms and floor boards Ryan? Ring them in the morning, don't get independant sparky in as you may not get your money back |
