When I wrote "other than service items" in my last post I meant that I didn't include oil, filters etc. not even fuel

It hasn't needed tyres during this time, and the ones on will last a few more seasons yet.

The battery has a few years left in it, also the discs, pads and rear drums will be fine.

I adjusted the front wheel bearings 18 months ago, still originals too.

Bought mine two weeks ago off Ebay. Looked for months for a good one.

It was an 04 3Litre auto (wanted auto for towing / manouvering large van). It was the SVE so black leather (leather looks like new unlike a lot of them)auto changer etc. Black leather meant silver dash not plastiwood.

Got it for £3K with 12 months MOT and 6 months Tax.

Have been very pleased. Only problem so far is sheared pin on Transfer box stick preventing getting low ratio. I like to have a good fettle anyway. Think dealers are putting on winter premium but not getting it tho.

Good luck.

Iv got 2 of the 2.7's I have a Maverick and a Terrano. Love them both paid £1,200 for the Mav on a 97 plate and £1,500 for the Terry on an X plate.
I run them both on cooking oil the Mav on about 30% and the Terry at about 80% as its got a better starter motor on it.

One of them is being taken off the road in Jan to be fully tricked up, its going to have a lot of time spent on it and all the bits i want to get done, my only problem is i just can not decide which one yet

its christmas. it feels like christmas and to top it all off the terrano is a wicked xmas pressie.
weve been stuck in crappy stoke on trent for 5 weeks without a car.
tommorow were having a bod up buxton to get some fresh sping water.(we brew beer and that water is great)and a good bit of fresh air and away from the shops.
we will perhaps cut through a few green lanes on the way home.
as for the truck.
it ended up I couldnt get the 3k together (xmas time)
and I got the green over champagne 2.7 se+ 2001 for 2.4 (maybe over priced but wasnt prepared wait till the winter was over to get one)
I was very scared on buying as I know nothing about mechanics.
I was concerned about the clocks saying 47k miles. i was concerned about the smoke out the exaust on starting.
but it seems ok.
the clocks had been replaced as i know its a common fault with these trucks.
its done 87k got more paper work than comes with my house.
it drove mint all the way home and i love it to bits.
and a big bonus is the fact its got 7 seats. its been the first time ive been able to fetch all my grandchildren and kids in one go
(44 with 3 grandkids should be against the law)

Well done, sound like a good one, but do have a look at all the areas that these can rust in and get plenty of protection on her

after having 2 motors to look after, insure, tax and then going to just one for everything.
we are free to put all our efforts and finance into one truck.
it will be waxoiled rust treated and well maintained.
I already want the spot light bar that goes abouve the windscreen with small hunt lamps on.
bf goodridge tyres.
maybe snorkle winch ect
and most of all. Having a motor thats part of your family you dont mind repairing it and spending your hard earned on it.

Do the 2" lift and get a set of 31" tyres on shogun 15" rims, coopers have the edge on BFG tbh mate. Also snorkel the beast for safety, then you're set

Steve, it is worth while removing the front mud flaps and seeing how much muck is stuck behind them, this is a rust trap area and if caught early, you save your self world of pain mate
