hi willow, dont forget that nissans rust aswell, you can buy most l/rover panels, but if looked after discovery's are ok, as you know i had a t2 and it was alright but in my opinion and that what it is, the discovery is a better motor.

I'm not saying a later one won't be fine for the medium term but if Willow wants it as a long term car then the Disco has an appalling track record for corrosion ..my neighbour has two and is constantly welding stuff, as is this bloke... http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?sh...0&#entry381605 |

Hi all
On line at strange times as that is the only time I can get on due to server probs. I had an old landrover it was as good as the t2 to drive off road but on road the t2 is better and it is better to be in doors that close and heaters that work and not as bouncey I like them both. My t2 is 1995 and the rust is no were to be seen so far However the newer landrovers have rust all over. So is it a case of old is better we no longer know who is building our cars do we Do'nt Tata own landrover and ar'nt they in trouble or have I got that wrong |

ok i missed all the chit chat before.
for me the t2 or mav is the one for wendy... very capable off road exellent on road and no real problems . reliability wise . landy is good but defender is the one to get. but tractor to drive on road as is the disco in our price range. they are wallowy and really do rust a lot..... parts are easy to come by mainly cos they rot and break so there are lots of parts available... yes if you want a truck that will go anywhere get a landy or g wagon as a base truck... but then expect to spend loads on extras diff lockers and lift etc .......... then it will go anywhere. but wendy dont want that, she just needs something to do some small farming in and drive to town and work t2 is the one ... you get in turn the key and it goes its comfy, warm and easy to maintain ... it drives nice and will go anywhere she wants to go without any mods no competition really |
