When i repaired my chassis last week i didn't even put a spanner on it,just straight off with the cutting disc on the grinder and replace with a new nut and bolt.

Did ye use a spanner to tighten the new bolt, or just finger tightened it

Hi all, so I've had a look under the truck today to see what I'm dealing with and it looks an ok job to swap the diffs round, I have some questions though

Does it really help a lot to take that crossmember out?, the one that Rick mentioned earlier!
Would it help if I put it in 4wd, I'm guessing it will keep things still-ish for undoing the bolts.

I have dropped a lot of front diffs in the past and always struggled with the X member in but after the first time I dropped it out would always do so it is much easier getting it back in and lining up,Rick

Just "dropped" the Pearl's lokka , again

We were taking the engine out. Didn't bother cutting bolts off the cross member or taking it off, just jack up the engine 1 cm and it'll fall out

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.
