I promise i scrapped em. Yeah my colleague had the 4.4 its a rocket, and has some lovely gadgets. Too pretty to enjoy offroad and too pretty to be intimidating on road (would be too scared to scratch it) Awesome tools though! |

Are there 2 switches? My oil light came on and I had the switch changed but it's still on

Hi Walshie, yes there's 2 switches a high and a low pressure. Have a look in the downloads section for some pics where to find the high pressure switch and the part number for the switch with an extension if yours hasn't had the updated part already. When I needed one I had to give them the part no. for it as it wasn't linked to the old one on the dealers parts system.

When I bought the car they said they were fitting a new switch. He showed me the right hand side of the block as you look in the bonnet. Very easy to get to.
Oil level fine. Light comes on at startup sometimes and stays on. Other times, stays off for the whole journey. Loving this little tractor more and more. Would love a taller centre arm rest though. New tyres tomorrow! Also, is door hinge/drop common? Oh, and when are belts done? Or is this chain/gears? |

Right, oil switch first... sounds like the muppets changed the low oil pressure switch instead of the high pressure switch (which is what they should have changed and is on the other side of the engine )
Low pressure switch is VERY easy to get to (especially if you remove the oil filter), high pressure switch failure on the zd30 is just one of those things but apparently not too bad to replace on the Terrano, but on the Trol it's a bugger and pretty much an engine out job ... ... which is why I fitted an oil pressure gauge instead (tee piece with sender into the low pressure point) and just give the oil pressure light the finger when it comes on When I get a minute I will be pulling the dash bulb! As for the engine timing, the 3.0 is a hybrid chain/gears - camshafts run off chain driven from the front of the injector pump but everything else is gear driven. Aussie consensus is chain shouldn't need replaced |

Rather than ditch the dash light, consider pulling the connection from the HP switch and ground it, then the LP switch/light combination should operate normally...

Ok.
I ordered a new, taller armrest from a company in Italy. I'll post pics when it gets here and when I figure out how. I also got my insa Dakars fitted to the car. They look great (to me) And aren't as noisy as I'd expected. |
