If you're going to hate someone - best to make it a rational hate based on facts rather than BS !
An excellent point and an excellent link, here is a quote from it:

The email alleges that “if you cross the British border illegally you get a job, a driver’s license, pension card, welfare, credit cards, subsidised rent or a loan to buy a house, free education and free healthcare.” It also suggests that “illegal immigrants/refugees living in Britain” are entitled to financial assistance worth up to £29,900 per year, in contrast to pensioners who, it says, receive only £6,000 a year in benefit. The email contains text from a protest email which has been circulating in Australia for some time now, but which may have originated in Canada. Versions also circulate in the United States, and elements even appear in protest emails as far afield as India. The UK version has been adapted, somewhat crudely, for a domestic audience by someone or some organisation unknown. The figures quoted bear no relation whatsoever to the situation in the United Kingdom.

as i said earlier it is nonsense

Highly recommended

Dave, I think there is a 'Little Englander' in all of us, being big enough to admit it and get past it is the way forward

In the haters defence, England is one of the soft touches for illigal imigrants because once they get in, it is very hard to get them back out. I have delt with some of them at the company i work for, they came in to us in the back of a lorry that came from france, as the doors were opened the first words i heard them say was " Is this England, I want Asylam" they made no effort to run off, just stood waiting for the police. If they have NO Passport were stuck with them and have to give them money to live on and some where to live. I dont know how much it is but its better than what they had. Now when you look at the amount of people getting in to the country and times that by how much the country pays out to them, not just in money but in aid and other areas likes policing the boarders, then it all adds up.

This thread should be moderated out. The figures are not facts and its bringing out bigoted & racist views this website should be bigger than this.

Seem to have ruffled a few feathers with this one, so please be assured that this was not my intention - it was meant as a subject for light-hearted discussion (that was why I put it in the clubs' Virtual Pub) on what I still feel is an imbalance in this fine countries' system for the payment of benefits.
If I have offended anyone I apologise, and would agree that if it is felt that the thread should be removed then that is what should be done - I am quite happy to agree to that.

I guess I am a bit thin skinned as although I am white and have a Derby accent I am an immigrant and a naturalized British Citizen having come to the UK when I was 5 years of age. My mother would have been called an economic migrant as she fled war torn Austria and came to the UK as a single mother. She married a Brit and secured British Nationality through marriage she has never claimed benefit in her life.

I became a British Citizen when I was 12 years of age and am now a reitired Police Officer. i have never been unemployed or claimed any benefits. When I read BNP statements that immigrants should be sent back to where they were born it becomes clear to me that they have little concept of the number of immigrants like me.

Your thread isn't the problem here Bruce, not long ago we had spate of these type of threads that bought out the bigots who relished in causing trouble with them - so don't take it personally!

macabethiel - it makes me wonder where the bigots would stop, first generation immigrants? second generation? How long would it take to empty the entire country? considering we are all the descendent's of immigrants if you go back far enough. And no one ever considers the migration from the UK to the rest of the world over these years - Britain is a wonderful mix

we reign it in.

note, the policy is delete and ask questions later if thread
could put club in a poor light.

I dont think the issue is immigrants as such, but more along the lines of what the government pays out to them as apposed to what it pays out to its own subjects. Every £ given to someone from out side of the country has to be deducted from what someone can be paid from inside the country and by that i don’t for one second mean a white Englishman, i mean someone who has worked here and put his tax contributions into the pot, whether he be white, black or green!

I look at it like this, the countries money reserve is like a bank account, you need to put money in to be able to get money out, its as simple as that.

macabethiel, full credit too you and your parents, you came here, made a life for your selves and paid in to the system, thats how it should be. The down side is some people dont want to pay into the system (And i know some English nationals that dont too) and they are the ones that should not get the help.

I also stress this is only my opinion and, as a British subject i am entitled too.
