well as i said in my other post, we seem to be coming to a stand still, M25 blocked, A13 very slow, A127 is struggling, and QE2 bridge is closed, all because of 6-8" of snow, unbelievable.

well sheffield pretty much isolated, ok so no real change there!
around 18-24" fresh combined fall, not drifts in suburbs. been to work in troll just, used 1st low and bit of rear axle diff lock. not so much roads as snow fields, really feel resistance. all way to work near city centre and back in 4wd, ran like a dream. taxi service for 4 team mate on way home when office abandoned at 3pm. no buses all day in region. on estate roads had ruts like green lanes can imagine was ploughing centre mound with diffs at times. oh and would have done my bit to rescue an ambulance 'cept he couldnt find his screw in towing eye, had straps ready but declined ripping his bumper off attaching to cross member so he dug himself out. think best or worse on your outlook ever seen since kid, parents saying like 1963. multiple truckers and motorist slept in their vehicles east of our place on a57 to worksop, rescued by woodhead moutain rescue today, might have made national news. keep it locked, in 4wd folks, know it makes sense.

Well apart from a short stretch of M1 I drove home in 4wd I took a slight fetour to play though down a little lane fantastic in 4L at the bottom of the lane I saw a road closed sign
My kids High School has been open all week but now says on their web site that they are closed Thursday. The head has put a little message thanking staff and pupils for their endeavours of getting in to school but due to the weather and the local council being incapable of keeping the roads clear they have had to close the school Jim |
