Any Help Plz..
Hey Guys
my oldest lad is coming outa the army soon and we have been thinking of going on some sort of 4x4 adventure abroad, be it to the arctic circle or somewhere hot,ofc the truck i decide to take will have to be fully kitted and sorted for the trip which will be part of the fun prepping,i know it wont be cheap and will take alot of planning and cash.The Question is what 4x4 do i get to prep..(prob a daft question on a mav/nissan site). I know my old truck wont make it is a 94 swb petrol mav..i reckon il need a long base desiel at least,il be wanting to cram all the adventure gear on it..whinch,huge roof rack,snorqel..lift kit,Roof tent.. plus loads more,now then do i go for a landy as u can buy all the parts needed for an adventure truck from most corner shops these days or will i be able to get all the parts id need for a big terrano without to much trouble.im asking as i dont know how well or easy it is to kit a terrano/mav...and whats the best lump..is it 2.7 or the 3.0 ltr (i know the is a huge subject) I have been hunting around diff sites getting info on upgraded heaters and upgraded this and that and id like to know if i can do the same with one of our trucks,ANY info that i can get on the subject of travel and gear and vehicles would be very helpfull..But the main one is how well do the nissan/mavs stand up to -20 cold of searing hot heat,and how well geared can i make one,being new ish to these 4x4s im a little lost..I would pref to take a nissan/mav if possible..or is there a more suited vehicle out there..Jeep/landy/land cruiser..blah,blah,blah.. |

at the risk of public stoning, I'd suggest a good condition toyota landcruiser, LSD front and back axle, suspension can be raised easily, big tyres, comfortable interior and lots of space. plenty of bits available to bolt on as well.
To justify my T2, it's narrow enough to get through most gates, not bad on diesel and the leather seats are very comfortable, plus, in mud, snow or just a tarmac road, the T2 for me, is just right....... |

landcruiser exelent - but not all have a front axel i have noticed , the narrow ones look to have similar front stuff to ours.
landrover defender 90 or 110 possibly the cheapest way to do it and and parts are easily available , when it breaks down ..... and it will but most sensible way i guess . plus resale value everyone wants a landrover patrol likes dadba,s old one parts are available but cost more less available . but rearly break or breakdown pretty unstoppable . if you find one or 2 supliers and breakers and explain what your doing maybe do a write up in some mag you might find the parts become cheaper and they will ship out parts quickly in the event of breakdown just try to get people on side before you start the build , thats my tip anyway |

While we don't carry the spares we can ship them as we already have the shipping companies on board and know which name to ask for if we need a big favour Offering 'sweeteners' to folk for help is always good but getting a charity on board as well opens BIG doors very quickly . Not only that but you get to have fun and help someone out at the same time |
