Black Diesel?
As the forecourt Dino Diesel price has gone up again recently,(thanks HMG!) I was tempted by a special offer at the local ASDA on veg oil and bought bulk load to try in my T2.
However, was talking to a diesel motorcyclist a few weeks ago, who told me that T2 would run on Black Diesel - Black Diesel being sump oil! There seems to be a bit about it on the internet... But has any body ever tried it? |

You can do it and having had the turbo seals go on my van it will run on engine oile but enviromentally its a nightmare. Heavy metals form the bearing shells and high hydrocarbons and particulates cos it doesn't burn very well - you'll be down on power too.
Was discussing withsomeone only the other day all the waste oil space heater type heaters that many garages are using, we were sayingthat their days must be numbered on enviromental grounds. |

i know of a guy who bought 3 drums of diesel that were put into empty hydraulic oil drums, he only got a few hundred yards and the injection pump siezed, when my mate stripped the pump it was beyond repair, hydraulic oil will not compress like veggy oil and bio diesel etc and will cause terminal damage.
