'cept hemel, though not identical as has 6 mini islands.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_R...emel_Hempstead) Wiki suggests there are also similar senses of humour in colchester and high wycombe. fortunately something only to be found in south. that said in sheffield we have a large island called park square, sheffield humour as its round which could be a redone as a magic. indeed years ago before it was modified to be trafic light controlled as was referred as the magic roundabout as it was magic if you got on and off it unscathed as unregulated traffic on it could reach 40/50 mph so really took life in hands joining it!

The swindon "Magic Roundabout" is great if you understand it.
very easy to get round. and quick. just need to understand that sometimes you are heading straight towards traffic and have traffic on the wrong side of you. First time i encountered it was at 3 am in a morning in a RAF coach. i just blasted straight over it and wondered "what the hell was that" lucky it was that time in a morning. |

hey no problem, I didn't know
The thing that got me to start with was , as other posters have put, the traffic coming at you and passing you on the "wrong side" , well wierd. Then on Monday morning , I'm not sure exactly where but somewhere not far from the Delta bussiness park/outlet centre/Asda area theres one set and theres 4 mini roundabouts and the road sign shows a perfect square with one on each corner amazing fun, just not used to it. Mind you we have Portrack junction around here and if you can make it round that current system first itme in one go without a collision or confusion youre doing well |
