Continental breakdown cover
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of breakdown cover for the continent (France).
Just had a quote from RAC and although we have been members for nearly 30 years and less than ten call outs in that time, they still want over £10 per day for cover on my 1998 Y plate Terrano and caravan. Their excuse is the age of the vehicle. So does anyone know of any better deal? Thanks in advance |

To be honest I do not regard that as a bad deal, I would take it while you can, Rick

Think Rick is probably right on that one. Unfortunately the age of our vehicles makes us a bigger risk and some breakdown companies won’t actually cover you for the uk at the ages of Terranos but they don’t tell you and take your money.
Good luck in your search and if you do manage to get it cheaper let us know as it might help others. Wonder how many people just hop on a ferry without a second thought for cover. |

I’ve got a similar deal with my broker A Plan Insurance.
Full recovery from anywhere in Europe and UK. All the extras £75 for the year. AA wanted £126 for my 2weeks in Pyrenees only! And I’m already a member! D |

Ok quick update.
As suggested we went to A plan brokers. We have dealt with them in our town for many years. They arranged cover for my Y plate Terrano with the caravan included for both the UK and Europe for £115 for the year. Uk cover being the equivalent of the RAC's Arrival scheme. |
