Hello Mate,

that looks like a nice neat installation, and as you said before, a whole heap of work. Have you taken the truck out for a run yet ? Anything you think might be an issue when it comes to being used in anger ? I quite agree that despite the level of work, it looks better than a home made up the wing jobbie ! How long did you sit there looking at the roof before you plucked up the courage to cut the hole ?

to be honest once i changed most of the flexi hose in the cab for a piece of stainless i scrounged from a friend

" lucky he had a bit with a 90 degree bend in that needed no cutting at all"

and covered it all in insulation tape for looks but mostly to make air tight seals everywhere

its not any noisier than as if it was a normal air flow

but you have to bare in mind the slightest hole and does sound like a vacuum cleaner when the turbo comes in (till every hole is sealed)

but at least im extra careful with my seals now and definitely no leaks

one other point is
now its a fully sealed unit so if something you dont want goes in, it will end up in the air box..... water too

i will have to add a sealed water drain off tank to the lowest point behind glove box foot space ,around 2 litres should do. this will need to be vented so it can let the air out should it let water in

but thats easy.

i found the ecu too "i think" while doing this raised air and plan to lift this up off the floor when i do the drain off tank

Looks good extreme,i agree with the water catch tank as i can see a heavy rain shower going right up the windscreen and into it,i guess if i was to attempt that it would be a whole new ball game with the airbag being there and pollen filter and things!!
Good idea tho!!

I think you've done a great job Extremewill be interesting to see if there are any other benefits over the long term towards performanceAre you fitting a mesh screen infront of the vent to keep things like leafs out

funny you should say that. i hadnt planned to... but will have to

trouble is although its colder air going in. but its still sucked in at such a rate (even with 3 inch hose) im afraid it might suck a bird in (half joking)

honestly if you put your hand near the scoop it will suck your hand into it when the turbo starts up

the standard opening is only 30-35mm diamiter i have 78mm and its better than my dyson... but that thing can suck... really shocked

i would concider putting a reversed scoop on for leaves etc as a forward scoop has no benifits . i dont think you could ever ram too much air in

it really needs a week or so driving to really test it


but hey its still nice, im still happy, even if i do change the scoop
