Talking water bill

Got my water bill today - £400.
Then I saw an advert for Oxfam stating they can supply a whole village with water for £5 a month.
Think I'll be changing my supplier!!..

My water bill used to be £715 a year as a result of the old rateable value rules so I paid more than anyone else on our street including several that had had extensions.

The original first owner had it built with a Garage, Central Heating & a fitted Kitchen. Tried to appeal but at final hurdle abandoned that idea as if I lost I would have to pay Council costs as well. I was delighted when it changed to the Poll Tax under Maggie as my Rates dropped by several hundred pounds.

About 18 months ago decided to have a free water meter, charges have dropped by around £230 a year as I use quite a lot of water.

If this is only a Joke posting please ignore all of the above ! lol

Love the joke/idea... I wonder what they would say, if a load of us contacted them, and asked them to help us out... LOL

Down here, they put us on a meter, and told us how we could save water to keep the bill nice and cheap... Being good responsible people, we did lots of bits, and then because we do not use enough water for 2 people, according to their calculations, we now get a standing charge surcharge, and are paying more than before they put us on a meter!!!
